Acupuncture
History
Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing developed over thousands of years as part of the traditional medicine of China, Japan and other eastern countries.

Acupuncture refers to the insertion of fine needles into the body at specifically chosen sites for the treatment of symptoms and conditions. These points are in very specific locations and lie on channels of energy or "Qi".
The aim of the treatment is to balance the body’s own energy. Stimulation of appropriate acupuncture points frees the flow of Qi in the body and promotes balance and well being of the internal organs. Acupuncture stimulates the mind and body’s own healing response.
The benefits:
Acupuncture can provide effective pain relief, and also act as a form of stress relief. Modern science has shown that acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce the body’s own natural pain relieving chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins assist the body to heal itself and relieve pain.
Acupuncture is practiced throughout the world to provide safe and effective relief for a wide variety of conditions - including pain, anxiety, arthritis, eczema, sports injuries, hay fever, sinus problems, asthma, migraine, high blood pressure, menstrual disorders, chronic fatigue and intestinal problems. It is also used in the management of pregnancy, and for pain relief in childbirth. It is very effective in the management of musculo-skeletal problems.
