Lorna Brady M.Sc (Mgmt), General Manager, SPORTSCO

Lorna Brady has over 30 years experience in the Leisure Industry and started her career with SPORTSCO in 1984, while representing the ESB swimming club competitively.  Her passion for the industry resulted in her qualifying in all aspects of the Industry. Lorna has been in management since 1995 and has been General Manager of SPORTSCO since 2005. She has recently achieved an M.Sc (Mgmt) from Trinity College and the Irish Management Institute and is also a qualified senior auditor with E.I.Q.A.

Her experience in the leisure industry has resulted in her position as a highly accredited leisure professional. Lorna has guided the facility through a three year €15million major redevelopment. Completion of this project has ensured SPORTSCO its place as one of the leading leisure facilities in the country with over 9,000 members.

Lorna and her team pride themselves on delivering a high level of customer service and quality at all times.

 

What is SPORTSCO?
SPORTSCO is located on a 4 acre site at South Lotts Road, Dublin 4, next to Shelbourne Park Greyhound track. SPORTSCO was established in 1979 and it's commitment to continual improvement and over 30 years experience has ensured its position as one of the leading leisure facilities in the country.

The facilities include:

• 25 metre 6 lane swimming pool

• 4 all weather six-a-side soccer pitches

• Fitness centre, comprising state-of-the-art gymnasium with over 70 pieces of equipment

• Fitness assessments with qualified fitness instructors

• Aerobic studio with wide variety of classes

• Spinning studio

• General purpose sports hall for badminton, table tennis, volleyball, basketball

• 3 squash courts

• Leisure suite - steam room, sauna, spa pool, deluge shower

Mission Statement
SPORTSCO is a leading leisure facility within the Irish leisure industry and aims to provide the very best in sports facilities and amenities for its members. SPORTSCO will provide programmes designed to enhance members' health and wellbeing in an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere that will cater for our diverse user groups which ranges from children right through to senior citizens.

It is SPORTSCO's intention to strive for quality through the delivery of professional service and excellent facilities. The organisation is committed to continuously improving the complex in order to satisfy members' needs and at the same time remain at the forefront of the leisure industry.

Key Objectives
Quality facilities, professional staff and a commitment to serving its members are the key objectives for SPORTSCO as they move forward. SPORTSCO has just completed phase 1 of a strategic development plan and will retain its policy of continuous improvement in the future through further phases. The leisure industry is more competitive than ever before, however Lorna Brady, General Manager believes SPORTSCO has the competency and plans to retain its position at the forefront of the Irish leisure industry.

Quality
SPORTSCO has been recognised with two awards recently. The Q-mark has been awarded to SPORTSCO by Excellence Ireland Quality Association in recognition of our systematic approach to assuring a quality product and service. It is Irelands national symbol of quality and SPORTSCO are the first stand-alone sports and leisure centre to receive the award.

 

 

SPORTSCO were also granted the White Flag award from ILAM Ireland. This award is sports and leisure specific and covers criteria such as hygiene, waste management, environmental and leisure standards. SPORTSCO are one of over eighty clubs in the country                                  to achieve the White Flag.
